To reach the sanctuary, you can take a local bus from Shimla to Sanjauli and then walk through the Sanjauli-Dhalli tunnel. It's a convenient 20-30 minute drive from the city. Upon arrival, you will need to obtain tickets at the entrance gate as there is a visitor limit in place.
One of the main attractions of the sanctuary is the opportunity for adventure seekers to embark on a day hike through the woods. The trail starts at the entrance gate and stretches for approximately 7 km, leading to a picturesque rest house at Seog. The hike offers a chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area.
If hiking isn't your preference, you can also rent bicycles at the entrance for a nominal fee and explore the sanctuary on two wheels. However, if you plan to drive your own vehicle or ride a bicycle, you must obtain permits from the reception area. It is strongly advised to take a trained guard-cum-guide with you while hiking or trailing, as there is a possibility of encountering bears or leopards.
