Detailed Itinerary: Zanskar Leh Expedition

Day 01: Delhi/Chandigarh – Manali (600 kms/300 kms – 12/7 hrs)

Commence your tour by picking up your cars and embarking on a journey to the valley of Gods, Manali. Covering a distance of 600/300 kms, you'll reach Manali by evening. Check into the hotel for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 02: Manali – Jispa (95 kms - 5 hrs)

After breakfast in Manali, drive towards Jispa, a village in Lahaul, situated at 10,500 ft. Covering approximately 95 km in 3 hours, pass through locations like Sissu, Keylong, Gemur, etc. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Jispa.

Day 03: Jispa – Darcha – Shinku La – Purne (90 kms – 5-6 hrs)

Proceed to Purne after breakfast in Jispa, visiting Darcha and Shinku La en route. Darcha, also known as Dartse, sits at an elevation of 11,020 ft, while Shinku La, a mountain pass, stands at 16,703 ft. Cover the stretch of approximately 90 kms in 3.5 hours. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Purne.

Day 04: Purne – Padum (55 kms – 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast in Purne, check out and drive towards Padum, a village at an elevation of 12,037 ft. Visit Phuktal Monastery with a trek of 1.5-2 hours. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Padum.

Day 05: Padum – Zangla (50 kms – 6-7 hrs)

Drive towards Zangla, visiting Karsha Monastery, Strongdey Monastery, Zangla Palace, etc., en route. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Zangla.

Day 06: Zangla – Kargil (265 kms – 8 hrs)

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Kargil, situated at an elevation of 11,562 ft. Cover a distance of approximately 265 kms in around 8 hours. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Kargil.

Day 07: Kargil – Leh (220 kms – 6-7 hrs)

Travel to Leh on the 7th day, covering a distance of 220 kms in approximately 5 hours. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Leh.

Day 08: Explore Leh

Explore Leh by visiting various sightseeing spots. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Leh.

Day 09: Leh – Nubra (130 kms – 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed towards Nubra, located at a distance of around 165 kms from Leh. It takes approximately 5 hours to reach, situated at an elevation of 10,000 ft. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Hunder.

Day 10: Nubra – Pangong (240 kms – 8-9 hrs)

On the 10th day, reach Pangong Tso, situated at an elevation of 13,862 ft. Cover a distance of 275 kms from Nubra to Pangong in approximately 7.5 hours. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Pangong.

Day 11: Pangong – Tso Kar (310 kms – 9-12 hrs)

After breakfast in Pangong, drive towards Tso Kar, located at an elevation of 14,860 ft. Tso Kar is a fluctuating salt lake known for its size and depth. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Tso Kar.

Day 12: Tso Kar – Manali (320 kms – 10-12 hrs)

On the final day, bid farewell to Leh-Zanskar as you return to Manali. After breakfast, return to Manali and explore Mall Road in the evening. Overnight stay and dinner at a hotel in Manali.
